THINGS THAT LAST

Polish highlanders, 2015 Their attitude to nature resembles the relationship between the leaf and the tree. Ultimate harmony and ultimate dependence. Highlanders believe that they had been created by the mountains, which forged their identity. They live for them, they live on them. This is a little appreciated phenomenon of contemporary Europe. Current trends promote uniformity. We adapt ourselves to others, convinced that after all, we are all the same. It ...

Popchnąć do refleksji.

PRYWATNA AKADEMIA FOTOGRAFII-Nowe zapisy 2018/2019

Prywatna_Akademia_Fotografii_Zapisy_2018/2019 Siedem lat temu z pewną nieśmiałością ogłaszałem nabór do Prywatnej Akademii Fotografii. Miałem duże doświadczenie w prowadzeniu różnorakich warsztatów, lecz Akademia to inna, znacznie trudniejsza formuła.

SUGAR TOWN

Java, Indonesia I travelled to Java in Indonesia to document sugar production there.  I was one of 6 photographers who were commissioned by the Dutch organization Noorderlicht to produce "The Sweet and Sour Story of Sugar". The project examines globalization by looking at the sugar industry in the Netherlands and its former colonies. It was like taking a trip into the past. I found myself surrounded by steam machinery and archaic ...

ATMOSPHERE OF KINDNESS

OVERWHELMED BY THE ATMOSPHERE OF KINDNESS I studied this land from the photos taken by my respectable friends who fell in love with the Podlaskie voivodship in Poland. When I arrived here in winter, at the beginning of 2011, these pictures, kept in my memory, proved true when confronted with reality. I was enchanted with the beauty of the landscape, but then, its splendor didn’t surprise me. So I thought that much ...

HADES. UPPER SILESIA, POLAND

HADES. Upper Silesia, Poland This series of photographs was taken from March until August 2009. It was my intention to pay homage to people performing hard manual labor. The workers. I chose the Upper Silesia where the work ethos, traditions and related customs seemed to be most alive, apparent and colorful. Poland is changing fast and many of my photographs depict tasks, places and objects  which are becoming the thing of the ...
